Foreign students in Germany by country of origin

The most important countries of origin of foreign students in Germany are India, China and Turkey. However, most Turkish students are so-called Bildungsinländer, i.e. students with foreign citizenship who have obtained their higher education entrance qualification in Germany. Many of these Bildungsinländer were born in Germany or came to Germany during their school years. Using the drop-down menu, up to ten countries of origin of foreign students at German universities can be selected for display in the chart. It is also possible to switch between viewing all foreign students, foreign students with a foreign education and students with a domestic education.
